One of my favorite parts of my trips to East Africa is the visits to the young men's homes and to get to meet their families. It has always been an honor and privilege in this position. I have learned so much from so many families. In addition, I love sharing with the family about the mission need in the United States and Glenmary's charism. So often the families are shocked to learn that there are still places in the USA without a Catholic presence. "I thought they already had everything there" I heard one mother say.
