Glenmary Aspirants

Currently I am in Epworth, Iowa visiting with Glenmary's students at Divine Word College.  At DWC, Glenmary's aspirants finish their philosophy degree as they prepare to enter our formation program in St. Meinrad, Indiana. The Aspirancy Program aims to help men further clarify their call to mission, especially with Glenmary. It aims to recognize that aspirants are at various levels of maturity and discernment about their missionary vocation to Glenmary priesthood or brotherhood.  What unites the aspirants to Glenmary is their desire to be a missionary and that currently some skill is needed in order to pursue that call before entering formal formation.

“Specialized training will be as necessary for this work as it is for the foreign missions... We plan to go into our home mission fields not one bit less equipped than our foreign mission societies go into the foreign mission field...” Rev. William Howard Bishop
