"I urge you, brothers and sisters, by the mercies of God, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God, your spiritual worship. Do not conform yourselves to this age but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and pleasing and perfect." Rom 12:1-2
The second reading at Mass today has such a good message for those discerning a mission vocation that it is worth reading again. Would not the sacrifice of offering yourself as a priest, brother or sister be holy and pleasing to God? By doing so we are able to follow St. Paul's words of "not conforming ourselves to this age" as we follow God's voice and not the voice of our current society.
Following God's call leads us to a deeper love and union with God and through prayer helps us to transform ourselves to following God's will in this world. Let us pray as we discern God's will in our life and find what is a pleasing and perfect.
