75 YEARS OF HOME MISSION MINISTRY!

In 1938, Rev. William Howard Bishop, founder of Glenmary Home Missioners, published a map of the USA which demonstrated the incredible mission need in our own country. For 75 years Glenmary Home Missioners has been serving that need.

Recently Glenmary published a new map which clearly shows the accomplishment of having served 144 missions in the past 75 years. It also shows that there is still a tremendous need for the Home Mission Ministry. This map highlights the counties in the U.S. which have a population less than 3% Catholic. The percentage indicated for each county is based on the total number of reported Catholic adherents compared to the 2010 United States Census of the general population.  

The data used for this map was collected from the 2010 U.S. Religious Census, "Religious Congregations and Membership Study."
