"...the Gospel, that has come to you. Just as in the whole world it is bearing fruit and growing, so also among you, from the day you heard it and came to know the grace of God in truth, as you learned it from Epaphras our beloved fellow slave, who is a trustworthy minister of Christ on your behalf and who also told us of your love in the Spirit." Colossians 1:6-8
"Who?" "Not Me!" "Can't you find someone better?" - Sometimes that's what we would like to say when we feel called. But today's reading points out something beautiful- Although Jesus, as far as we know never set foot in Collasae the Gospel message reached there. Who was there evangelizing? Epaphas, a slave.
It is easy to say "no not me... I am not good enough" but reading elsewhere in the bible we see that "God chose the foolish of the world to shame the wise, and God chose the weak of the world to shame the strong." 1 Corinthians 1:27
Is God calling you, like Epaphas, to be a missioner, to evangelize and to be a minister of Christ?
