2017 Glenmary Assembly

This year the Glenmary General Assembly began with reflections provided by Bishop John Stowe O.F.M. Conv., Diocese of Lexington, "Mission Over Maintenance: Implementation of the Vision of Pope Francis." Bishop gave us much to think about sharing his reflections on the words and actions he has seen and heard from Pope Francis. Pope Francis has called us to be joyful missionary disciples. We as Glenmary missioners have been challenged by Bishop Stowe to reflect on a number of questions:
How does Pope Francis challenge us and affirm us as missioners?
Does joy characterize our life as missioners?
When did you last experience contagious joy?
What lessons have you learned from the magisterium of the poor?
How do we reach people in the three circles of evangelization? - those who are in the pews, those who are baptized but not connected to the church and those who are not connected to the church in any way?
May the spirit guide us through our meetings this week and help us to continue to reflect on these questions as we discern God's working through us to serve the people of God in Mission Land USA.
