As part of our commitment to dialogue, good will and a mutual understanding, members of Glenmary Home Missioners visited the Islamic Center of Great Cincinnati which is located near our National Headquarters. The day included a talk and tour by Shabana Ahmed and a meeting with Imam Hossam Musa. It was a profound experience which helped us to learn more about the beliefs of Islam and some of their practices and traditions. In addition it allowed us to reflect on the many similarities between our faith traditions, to recognize some of the inter-connectedness and to see the need for continued efforts to build bridges between our communities.
"We cannot truly call on God, the Father of all, if we refuse to treat in a brotherly way any man, created as he is in the image of God" (Nostra Aetate 5).
