I love getting out to visit our Glenmary Missions and recently I had the opportunity to visit our mission parish in Erwin, Tennessee. Glenmary began serving there in just 2011. Fr. Tom Charters is the current pastor and along with Br. Tom Sheehy and lay missioner, Kathy O'Brien serves the community in Unicoi, County. Since beginning the mission, Sunday Mass has been celebrated in the homes of the faithful, the local Elks Club and in the garage of a rented house. This past week though they celebrated mass for the first time on the property of their future home. Land has been bought and a small pavilion erected.
