Lenten Reflection Questions

Lent is only one week away. A good reflection for the Lenten Season would to be to discern as to where you are being called.

Are you looking for deeper meaning in your life?
Are you sensitive to the needs of others, seeking to help them, affirm them and challenge them to holiness?
Are you "people" oriented and attracted to groups which respond to human needs?
Do you enjoy being with people, meeting new people, and working with others? Can you also appreciate solitude?
Are you capable of taking initiative and making decisions?
Is prayer important to you?
Are you involved in your local parish, Newman Center or Catholic community?
Are you engaged in service to those less fortunate?

Glenmary Home Missioners are dedicated to establishing a Catholic presence in rural areas and small towns of the United States where the Catholic Church is not yet effectively present.

Chair of St. Peter

On this Feast of the Chair of Saint Peter, Apostle which we celebrate on the church's calendar today, I am reminded to pray for Pope Francis. Over and over again he has asked us to pray for him and I think he needs those prayers. I know that often in my own life I have heard people tell me they have been praying for me and I realize that's how I was able to make it through those difficult times.

Lord you established the Church on the rock of Peter. I pray that you continue to watch over the Church and guide Pope Francis, her shepherd, to lead us closer to you. Amen

On this Feast Day I also share with you this article I wrote about Pope Francis nearly 9 months ago.
